PreActive Stretching Instructor Course
Course Objective:
Participants will gain skills in leading peers in a pre-activity therapeutic stretching routine.Overview of Course:
Preventing injuries while functioning at optimal performance requires muscles and joints be prepared to handle loading stresses and strains. Applying an effective pre-activity stretching routine lubricates joints and restores normal slide and glide motion in muscle fibers.
Introduction to stretching concepts and the PreActive Stretching protocols will give a greater understanding of stretching with an intentional focus. Training skills specific to being an instructor will be incorporated.
Course Outline:
Basics - 2 hours
Introduction – Why stretch?
Skeletal Muscle Anatomy and Physiology review
Healthy Muscles-Strong-Flexible-Pain Free!
Stretching concepts - animal survival, dynamic motion analysis, crepitus
Self Release techniques - detangle fibers, slowly scrub crepitus, pin & stretch, find & grind, squeeze a spasm, yawn & sigh.
18 Movement protocols.Advanced - 2 hours
Group practice
Review of concepts and protocols
Small group breakout - pairs teach each other movement protocolsPracticum - 2 hours
High speed demonstration
Written Test
Groups of 4 - Evaluate, Discover, Explore
[help each other gain feedback, understanding movements and concepts better, refine teaching skills]

Certified Myotonic Facilitation Practitioners
Certified Myotonic Facilitation Practitioners are committed to providing objective soft tissue care and performing protocols that are efficient, effective and easily documented. CMFP's have highly refined their muscle palpation skills, know how to document muscle dysfunction in dynamic motion testing and are adept at quickly performing eccentric break testing [EBT] protocols. Certified practitioners know how and when to apply more than a dozen soft tissue techniques that result in immediate changes in muscle power output. They also have World Class rehab protocols to choose from for superior patient rehabilitation.
COURSE INFORMATION
Myotonic Facilitation: Objective Soft Tissue ProtocolsStatement of Purpose: These courses give the participant additional tools to be confident in evaluating, documenting, correcting, and rehabilitating neuro-musculo-skeletal dysfunction. PreActive(sm) therapeutic stretching protocols will be integrated to encourage muscle fiber elasticity and gliding. These protocols are easy to implement with any technique or practice style.
Overview of Courses: Neuro-muscular dysfunction includes bony and soft tissue components. This course covers the neuro-muscular response to trauma and provides a plan to objectively evaluate and document neuro-muscular dysfunction. Participants will receive instruction on how to accurately evaluate joint and muscle dysfunction and restore normal function using both instrument (impulse type tools and massage devices) and hands-on correction. Application of over a dozen different manual therapy techniques will be discussed and practiced. Rehabilitation protocols developed from yoga, martial arts, and kinetic chain integrity will be demonstrated and practiced.

What to expect from this seminar:
Doctors, come to these seminars ready to elevate your soft tissue diagnostic skills to new levels. Gain deeper insight into evaluating the effectiveness of adjusting techniques to discover which ones are most efficient for you and your patients. Differential diagnosis of your toughest cases including tortipelvis, torticollis, disc problems, etc. will be addressed. We will practice utilizing outcome-based functional assessments for dynamic joint motion and Dr. Turnbull's Eccentric Break Testing [EBT] protocols. Participants will also engage in rehabilitation protocols for improved joint mobility and flexibility. This will be a fun, interactive learning experience for all. These seminars are 80% hands-on practical training.
What this seminar is not:
'Idealistic one technique is all you need', 'meta-physical psycho-spiritual meditations', 'hours of regurgitating research minutia'. This seminar is... solid science and 80% hands-on practice in an open-minded learning environment.
